I've shied away from fluoride containing products due to many research studies linking it to many medical conditions including but not limited to thyroid problems, poor neurological development in infants and toddlers and reproductive issues. Hydroxyapatite is a naturally occurring substance in your teeth (and bones) that helps strengthen them. I won't get into the scientific details of how hydroxyapatite works but in toothpaste it helps to remineralize and strengthen the enamel of your teeth by replacing what is already naturally occurring there.
